I guess so but it is not something I have done, I bought a Stream Deck Mini for transport controls.

It's definitely worth joining the 'music tribe' forum if you can navigate the software. There are a lot of experienced and helpful X32 users on there. It's a little more formal but the atmosphere is surprisingly like this place.

Actually, I have Stream Deck ;) Hadn't thought of using it like that.

I had a look at that site before and it did seem really odd. But I'll try again tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

Thanks for your help!

Me too. I use it primarily for live, but it makes a superb remote and shortcuts for macros.

Ok, I may have done this backwards - the mic was technically the most important part of getting my sound better for the podcast ;) But I've just come back from collecting the X32 Compact ;) Not had a chance to set it up yet, but exciting!

Now I need to list my Rubix 24 and get a few quid for that towards the mic ;)

Thanks again for your help here. Sorry this started out as a Tascam thread and ended up as Behringer thread! Really do appreciate all your help. This is a really nice, friendly forum.

Thanks, I'm sure I will! Not even carried it upstairs yet (carrying it to the car and into the house was bad enough and I scratched and bruised my arms! )

Absolutely! (just to clarify, this was in the original box AND the shipping box it came in, so was really large and awkward to carry! ;) )

Ha! You could have saved a whole lot of time asking me about Behringer desks in the beginning! But still love my Model 12 too.

No, I had to go through this process. I did hope I could get something cheaper, but everything I've looked at had features that I would miss (and in the case of the Model 12, also had features I don't need). I had my eye on some of the more expensive desks like the X32, the QU-16 etc but thought they were out of my budget and that's why I've been procrastinating so much. This still was out of my budget really, got to find a bit more for the mic now, but worth it.

But sometimes things are meant to be! The X32 was literally just listed on the second hand site. I've been watching a few sites constantly.

I'm sure - no, I know from what I've read - the Model 12 is a great device, it's just not right for me. Thanks for your help, and enjoy your desk too!

...hey resistorman ..considering you are a synth guy and have the model12 ...do you think the model12 can be midi synced to my cirklon sequencer ..and then put all my synth gear through a summing mixer into the model12 so that i can have quite a few bits of midi gear playing simultaneously with recorded analog stuff like guitars etc recorded on the model12..??

I haven't tried it, but there are settings for transmitting both MIDI time code and MIDI clock with Song Position Pointer (SPP). It doesn't look like it chases clock, so you would have to use it as the source for the Cirklon.

And you only get one tempo per song, no tempo maps. Which is a big bugbear of mine, when did variable tempos get dropped on devices like this? My ancient Fostex FD4 had MIDI tempo maps 20 years or so back.

X32Reaper freeware allows 2-way control over Reaper fader movements, fader banks, EQ, mutes and mute groups, transport controls, and also automation if you add another small extension (I haven't used it, but I'm on the lookout for a cheap X32, like John was  ).
