What I need to improve in the mix?

Postby aviorrok » Wed Aug 05, 2020 7:12 pm

HI,
I made a production and mix for cover to improve my mix and music production skills
What do you think about my mix? what I need to improve for next time?
(I also made a mastering but I'm not a mastering engineer)

 Nothing much wrong with that!

Just watch out for those low frequencies. I think you are OK, but if it were my mix I would want to carve out a few lower mid frequencies, just to make the mix sound a little less resonant as a whole.

Also I would make those strings in the intro really lo-fi to contrast even more strongly with the other instruments, but this really is just down to personal taste.

Well done!

Thank you!
I tried to make the strings lo-fi with "telephone" EQ and RC-20 but sounds weird, you have a better methods?
On low frequencies you mean 50-300hz?
Also I think the vocal is not good enough and not sit good on mix and needs a little automation on volume
