hi ALL,
I have some old 1980 MC dbx tape to masterize,
but I need a dbx to re-expande the sound...

Can anyone advise me if they kown if maybe there are some dbx plug ins to decode ?

I think u-he's Satin can do dbx decoding...

Yes, Satin has a dbx decoder (and encoder) which seems to work. However, I prefer my own dbx decoding setup which uses a chain of Reaper plug-ins to achieve the same thing but offers the ability to change settings to match the tape. There is information on a similar effects chain available on the internet for Protools.

If you want to give the Reaper effects chain a try then I've put it up at

There's no guarantee as to how accurate it is and I often subsequently tweak it by ear if I have a reference recording of the tape that I'm transferring.
