This info is buried in another thread, but I think it should really have a thread of it's own.

(*Not a real doctor! )

It is an honorary title -- I wouldn't want to take away from the hard work required by anyone gaining a real PhD!

But it is a very great honour and privilege. The citation reads: 'The University wants to pay tribute to [Hugh] in recognising [his] contribution to the public understanding of science and technology'.

And the Certificate I was given reads: 'Hugh Robjohns, being a person distinguished by eminence and attainments, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Technology honoris causa'.

... which is nice!

I had a weird time in Surrey once, but that was a drummer's fault.

Hey, did nobody notice the beard? This is a clear giveaway - it’s the evil *Doktor Hugh*, from the mirror universe...

You’ll see him slip up at some point. A casual use of the non-correct dB scale reference here, referring to a power cable as a kettle lead there... just be vigilant!

Good sleuthing Kwackman.
Couldn't be given to a nicer chap.
Say, shouldn't Hugh have a new avatar now? One wearing a mortar board and looking slightly embarrassed

I'm genuinely very touched by all your congratulations. Thank you.

It was a completely unexpected award to receive, but a great honour, and UWE has very good Music Technology/broadcast/audio courses and an excellent team of staff and external lecturers, so it's a real pleasure to become a part of their 'family'.

Well done that man.
