The Grammy's 2020

Postby Argiletonne » Fri Feb 14, 2020 6:59 am

Anyone have an opinion, based in reality;
about the Grammy winners,
or whether you found cause, reason or personal feelings;
about another individual or band,
more deserving of the Grammy this year?

My recommendation and to start the topic,
not for angry banter or useless ignorance,
but to revive the idea;
the only people that win,
are not the only people,
and;
there are always many great music acts,
worthy of coverage and acknowledgement,.

More specifically but not limited to,
replacement winners for awarded fellows of the music industry,.
i.e. The Civil Wars, Donna Missal, while she sleeps,. etc.
not the other people already listed that did not win,
but if you must,
I suppose you can mention them too,
but I'd prefer you didn't,
seeing as mentioning someone whose already been mentioned defeats the purpose of this whole exercise,.

It's like I'm asking,
are you a fan of music too,
and do you listen to music,
and know enough bands or artists,
to list your own winners,
based on their credibility,
and skill that appears deserving,
in quality and sales,.
Not purely based of off the person who claimed the most advertising dollars over the year.

What makes Billie Eilish and The Civil Wars that much different except that The Civil Wars were around first, and remain to be seen, less popular with the mainstream.

Here's the list of all genres:

Didn't watch them and I don't listen to much music. For me it is not a spectator sport.
But driving the other day I heard a Billie Eilish song. Although I kinda guessed it was some youngster really having a go at some of the mountain of Krak'd plug ins he shares with his pals........ it jumped out of the speakers, not so much musically or sonically, but the content was really stark and bare. Like soloing FX returns perhaps. That and well the unique slack singing style which pretty much every indie or hipster aspires to.
Overall, an old catchphrase, probably my own, comes to mind. Different is Better than Good.

She is a youngster but I doubt she's using much in the way of krak'd plugins these days :bouncy:

Billie Eilish is still around and 'The Civil Wars' are long gone (shame that, they were very good). I can't see any similarities between the two personally either?

Just curious but is that a slightly strange poem or was it just typed on something with a narrow screen and rather forceful line breaks? :beamup:

It's not very inclusive is it?
No Russian gangsta polkas.
No jellyfish operettas.
No off world galactic fusion.

Maybe we'll see the Grannies merge with the Olympics or Stars on Ice?
I'd like to see Jay Z doing Bolero with Dani Dyer with plenty of Ruffle Sleeve Shirt action, a full orchestra and fireworks.
