Poll for my university coursework

Postby BrendanTucker » Thu Apr 25, 2019 7:47 pm

Hi everyone I'm new here, I'm currently studying for my degree in music production. As part of the coursework, I'm required to post a questionnaire with relation to my business proposal of an independent Foley artist/sound effects studio. If you could answer my poll it would be immensely helpful.

Thank you!

Hi Brendan,
It doesn't seem to be especially clear what question you would like us to answer with your poll ;)

Are you doing a degree in poll dancing then?

Brendan,

This is not what was intended when you were asked to do a questionnaire. We get a fair few of them on the forum and they are a proper series of questions designed to gather information about the people answering as well as asking questions about the main topic as well. I think that you need to go back and start from scratch - there are sites which will host these kind of surveys and let you post it as a link for people to follow and fill out.

If you have a search through the forums for 'survey' you can find some examples that you might want to have a look through.

Welcome!

I do a fair bit of work with sound-effects - mainly, but not exclusively, location effects and sounds. I'm afraid your poll is poorly designed and needs a lot more work. For instance, to what precise question am I answering 'yes' or 'no'? And I can answer both 'yes' AND 'no'!

A bit of explanation of what I do may help you rethink your approach...

I provide sound-effects to an online library.
I use sound-effects from online libraries.
I sometimes get asked to provide a specific sound effect which subsequently finds its way into a library.
I create specific sounds for my own work which are not shared with anyone.

Hope that helps you reshape your questionnaire.

Good luck!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback, I will create a new post with a link to my survey rather than using the poll feature.

Thanks

I have voted 'no' as I took it to mean 'do I need a poll for my university coursework'.

I hope I have understood correctly.

Cheers.

Phrenology would make a good partner unless you fall off your pole and bang your head which might confuse the diagnosis.
