Failed graphics card?

Postby paulbaggott » Fri Mar 13, 2020 1:08 pm

My son's mid 2012 Mac Pro desktop stopped working.

The screen went black.

It was re-booted.

It tried to open but the screen turned pink with different coloured vertical narrow strips.

We are assuming (hoping) the graphics card has failed.

Has anyone any experience of this?

Mine did the same (same MacPro).
I got a second hand card of eBay.
You might think of putting in one of the approved video cards that will run the latest OS. The OEM card won't run Mojave or Catalina.
