MS have just announced a forthcoming Ultimate Performance Mode for Windows 10 Pro:

Said to maximise performance, it might be useful for us Windows users.

I've been trying to figure out the point of Windows for Workstations since it cropped up a few months back; guess we're finally finding out.

Ah right. When I read "for Workstations" I assumed it was the standard version of Windows, and not Server. I didn't realise it's another SKU.

Hang on - are we going back in time 30 years or have Microsoft run out of new names for their products now?

It's been with us a couple of months at most and TBH they didn't make a fanfare announcement of it, as there isn't really anything to make a noise about yet for most users. This is the first differentiator that I think most users have taken note of so far outside of the server room.

Yeah, you're not the first person to note this. It seems MS customers have a longer attention span than their marketing department.
