Is a 3rd party firewall/antivirus necessary?

hi everyone


i ve been away from windows pc for almost 10 years !


and i plunged again and bought me a brand new scan laptop!!!

here s the thing though


remembering the old days i bought bullgard internet security with it
and i bought meself a brand new focusrite interface…

to make it short they conflict


so scan tech guy said to deactivate bullguard and that he only used win defender without probs….


any advice/ thoughts/ experiences to someone who suddenly feels like a newbie…?? :-D

For general purpose user, the answer is yes. If you want to visit deep, dark, nasty web sites, then you'll probably need something in addition to WIndows Defender, otherwise you should be fine. You'll find most people here now only use WIndows Defender. I do.

It's a UK based site. so most of us are from the UK, but it's got a pretty international user base,
