Reason 3 time signature change

Postby DanR » Fri Nov 01, 2019 5:48 pm

Hi
I was given Reason V3 years ago and although I mainly use Cubase, I’m quite liking the
Reason interface.
Main problem is that I’m unable to add automated time changes to compositions without
Rewiring to another sequencer program.
Just wondering in what version Propellerhead introduced this.
Any help appreciated.

Dan,
Found this article about Reason V4

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply.
Had a look at the article. Problem is that Reason V3 doesn’t have the ‘transport track’ that
V4 onwards has.
This is needed for automated time signature changes.

Yes. It looked to me as though that might be the case. Unfortunately, I started to use Reason with V5, so those earlier versions are outside my experience. It looks as though upgrading or switching to something else are your only options.

Thanks. Yes, thought so. I’ve got my Cubase Essentials 8 anyway but find Reason more stable and glitch free for soft synth recording.

I like Reason very much, though my stuff is much more guitar oriented. I presume you are using Cubase for the actual recording, as I didn't think that the early versions of Reason supported recording at all?
I can certainly recommend the latest version 11 of Reason. That does support recording and VST plugins and has a good set of built in instruments.

Yes that’s correct. No audio recording on V3.
I do mainly keyboard triggered instrumental music using the soft synths and sample players.
Occasionally use the audio tracks.

I’ve managed to make a few adjustments in Cubase to help eradicate the audio glitches.
Reason 11 Intro version looks good value though and could replace my V3. No mp3 export
which is a shame.
I use this a fair bit in Cubase.
