Makie Pro Fx12v2 - Help!

Postby rmmusic » Wed Jan 08, 2020 4:44 pm

Hey. I'm new hear, Great Site!

So I recently brought a Makie Pro Fx12v2 for my home studio to record drums.

Im using Studio one 3 professional.

I have 6 mics connected to the makie them the makie connected to my laptop via usb. I can only seem to get channels 1 & 2 working out off the 6?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm guessing I'm going to need more than just the mixer?

Thanks!

Yep... The USB interface in that desk is only a 2x2 interface.

It passes two channels from the desk -- the main stereo mix bus -- to the computer, and replays two channels from the computer into the desk's main stereo mix bus.

So you can record a stereo mix of your six drum mics, but you can't record all six mics individually.

if that's what you want to do, you'd be better off selling the mixer, and buying a multi-channel USB interface instead.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes I thought so, and yes that's what I want to do. Record all 6 mics at the same time via usb with Studio one.

I am returning the mixer and buying a interface. I've been looking and would this interface be good for what I need. Not looking to spend heaps off cash.

Tascam US-16x08 Audio Interface

Thanks

Yes, that should get the job done.

Funnily enough you're following exactly the route I took, and I ended up with the Tascam as well. It's done the job perfectly well for me since then.
