I've been using Mega since the beginning. Their marketing approach is exactly the same as all the others. Dropbox, One Drive... all offer extra storage if you do stuff to promote their services.

Pirated content is just as bad as all the others. None of them actively check uploads.

The one difference is the USA seems not to like Mega and ignores all the others...

My account is 50 GB. Has been like that from the beginning. But hey, if you like to believe the stories...

There are some storage providers who specialise in pirated content. They are completely different from Mega (and the other companies mentioned) and will routinely try to inject adware or even malware. Some of them even inject malware into the stored content. I wonder why none of those ever get any interest from US "law" enforcement?

I don't like Kim Dotcom, but he has been gone from the company for years now. I also think blaming him while leaving all the others out of the picture is not justice. It's revenge. Plain old American lynching.
