Yamaha Steinberg driver issues

Postby DanR » Sun May 31, 2020 10:48 am

Hi
My brand new Steinberg UR22c suffers from audio dropouts on Cubase VSTi recording/playback (15 VST instrument tracks approx.) and occasionally on YouTube. The USB/data light even blinks off once in a while when the interface is idle.
Seems to be a common problem with the UR22 on the Steinberg forums.
I have a support ticket open but not holding out much hope and will send it back for a refund soon.

I’ve optimized my Acer i5 W10 laptop and have tried running the UR22c in USB 2.0 and 3.0
modes. Also powering it with a 5v 2.3a power adapter to be sure and have the latest driver installed.
Have tried upping the buffer samples to mid/high (1000 - 2048) but my Focusrite 2i2 handles the same project at 256 samples no problem.

The UR22c has good features for the price which is why I’ve chosen this to replace the 2i2
1st gen.
It’s down to the drivers I think and there’s no help from Steinberg.
Any UR22 users having similar audio dropout problems?
Any help appreciated.

No worries.
Might be a lead problem.
