Can anyone suggest anything that will make the above video? It is for my son and one vital thing is the ability to put in the rolling text.
I have found Lightworks but do not know if the free version can do that.

Blackmagicdesign DaVinci Resolve has a free version which could probably achieve something along those lines, but it's very picky about the GPU ... https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/au/pro ... ciresolve/

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector. Good value.

Seem to remember reading that Lightworks is very good but has a steep learning curve.
With PowerDirector you can add text into the timeline anywhere.

I had a quick scan through and didn’t see any rolling text, just a series of separate text boxes dissolving in and out.
However if you’ve got an Apple device then iMovie (free) should be fine for replicating the video and can also have rolling text.

I used the wrong term then. However the text is implemented, that is what he wants to do.

Apple! Not in this household! Heh! In any case dad has already invested too much in both his own and son's PC kit (he is in France BTW) and the pot will not stretch to much more.

Shoot! If I had 'mac money' I would just buy him Camtasia!

If you've already done the screen capture then Reaper can handle adding the text and cropping and resizing the video. If he doesn't have Reaper then take a look at Shotcut which is free.

Was just about to suggest Reaper or Shotcut. Both less CPU heavy than Resolve.
