New hand-tracking from Google

This is tangential R&D stuff but I thought I'd post it anyway.

For some time I've been interested in gestural control for music. It's one of the reasons I've been following the Hololens 2, shown here being used to play an AR piano. The release date is getting closer; could well be within the next couple of months, but it looks like it'll cost over £2.5K. (I see pre-orders for the new version of the mi.mu gloves have now sold out, also at £2.5K per pair.)

So anyway, I follow a VR news site called Road to VR and I was interested to see the release of a new open-source camera-based hand-tracking system from Google...looks pretty good. (I do have a Leap Motion but never really got anywhere with that.)

I wish I was smart enough to flip through the instructions for installing it under Docker, nod my head, and think, "Yep, I'll have a go at that over morning coffee."
