Just thought I'd make the point that as of the last SOS meet Yoshimi Pi 003 is spoken for, so I need to think of making another one for this year's Linux Audio Conference.

However making just one is a pain, two is better, but I'd need to make about four to really gain the benefit of a mini production line. So that would leave three left over.

I'm sure at least that number of people have (as they say) expressed an interest. Anyone like to make a firm order?

Incidentally, I'm thinking that Zen should get first option of 007, seeing as he thought of it. Also, if we go with Goldfinger rather than Golden Eye, that means almost the whole thing is golden :)

Place your orders Ladies and Gentlemen. I hereby confirm publicly that I will be putting my money where my mouth is and will honour my bid for 007. Happy to pay up front on request, so do your worst folks, crowbar my wallet open.

How cool. 60 pounds? Can I pre-order one? I know nothing of synths but I've got to start somewhere and it can just as well be yours!

Ummm. That wouldn't cover a third of the materials. I've been asking for £260.

Given you get a pi4, a little HDMI monitor, an audio interface and a power supply plus a little 1-button box to glue it all together it would be a good enough deal even without the fact that it has been pre configured to boot direct to a working instance of Yoshimi.

In all seriousness, it's an absolute steal at £260 and I would recommend it to anyone. Apart from being a unique and interesting device in it's own right, it sounds fantastic.

It's cheaper than many softsynths and can give the best of them a run for their money.

Go on, you know it makes sense!

You'll have to talk to Folderol for the price in kroner, but whatever it is it's worth it. I've got a bog-standard class compliant MIDI interface plugged into mine with the other end in a MIDI patch bay and it all works without fuss. How many synths can you find where the maker will be coming to stay the night next Saturday?

I'm in too. Will, put me down for 006. It's a number (including the leading zeros) that has special significance to me and although I didn't finish my demo track before heading to Wales this week I have been working on finishing it up in my head and just realised how much could be done with two of the little beasties, especially as one of them is 001 :D

... and now I'm sitting here (mug of tea in hand) rocking backwards and forwards with a big silly grin on my face. I never expected anyone would want two.

OK Eddy, 006 will be yours.

I've actually ordered 4 monitors. They come direct from China and usually take 2-3 weeks, but in view of the current disastrous situation over there they may take longer. However, YoshimiPi will work with standard HDMI monitors, so I can still build and test them.

Actually you can make the Yoshimi Pi work with a VGA monitor too, though you do need a special cable for the job. I wanted to use a particular screen with it but it was VGA only, so I found this cable that does the job. It's an active cable, meaning it needs power but it gets that from one of the Pi's USB ports. It works very well. The other two available ports serve the MIDI interface and the keyboard/mouse.

Most of the parts have now arrived for the next batch of these, so I can start building. Numbers 006 and 007 have been pre-ordered, and 003 (already built) is also taken.

So, anyone interested in 004 or 005?
