If you're a Fender nut (is that a Strat on your avatar?) the FenderForum is a nice active one. Are we allowed to post a link to rival forums? Here goes anyway (moderators please delete if not appropriate).

GuitarGeek is very active, but should come with a health warning :D

It can be addictive, and you will likely end up disagreeing with someone over something trivial (like recommending a Boss pedal - they used to love the boutique and custom gear).

Hmmmm, I thinks the SOS forum strikes a good balance between knowledge and common sense. Guitar Geek is the equivalent of Gearslutz, ie you'll end up reading than any Fender made after 1977 is only good as a kayak paddle and that a £300 stomp box is useless if it hasn't been modded by a guy who leaves in a beach hut in Southern California and will only do the job if he likes your face.

If you visit the Fender forum don't mention that Eric Clapton isn't actually quite as brilliant as many think he is. Don't mention that he hasn't written 5 songs, on his his own, in the last 40 years worth listening to, either.... I did once I think I got away with it... :D

"Me & Mr Johnson"; I doubt anyone with ears could say that was anything less than superb.

Remember, wrote hardly anything in his career.

I thought Wonderful Tonight was a masterpiece. Love the Lancome inspired lyrics where the beautiful lady wears her makeup.  :headbang:

"... Remember, wrote hardly anything in his career. "

That should have said "Remember, Elvis wrote hardly anything in his career." but some reason the Elvis part disappeared from the post?!?!??!

hugeracksinc is the best guitar, amp and effects site on the whole interweb as far as I am concerned. Especially if you can see past Gibson or Fender.
Very relaxed moderators and a lot of big name guitar builders personally answering questions on there (John Suhr and James Tyler to name two). Lots of people who make the boutique gear we use on there too.
All the best.
Vinny.
