Funnily enough Dave one is on my "spare grand" list as well :D

I'd love to have a play on one, but somehow doubt I would get very far...

Yago wrote:It looks very similar to a guitar , but the neck has no taper , and it is played by hammering on with both hands allowing melody and counter melody to be played at same time .

It could also be a tap board, or a variation thereof, which was invented by Francis Dunnery.

If it is a Chapman Stick, then there's no one better at playing it than Nick Beggs.

I certainly agree with Parker Fly about Nick Beggs - I saw him play Stick alongside John Paul Jones. His brief included bass parts (when JPJ was playing keys or slide gtr),lead guitar parts (Jimmy Page solos) and midi-triggered strings during Kashmir - all with a Stick ! I have an old Stick from 1985 and use it mainly for 2-handed bass parts a la Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel. King Crimson,Pink Floyd, etc).
