So now there is nothing for it but to glue the top on. Now where did I put the guitar body?

As with the back I have to plane the lining and front and back blocks down to provide a nice gluing surface. Then cut notches in the sides for the brace ends, making sure that the centre line on the top aligns with the centre line of the body. A quick dry clamping to make sure everything fits and is aligned, then out with the Titebond and soft clamps.

With some help from my beautiful assistant I first clamp over the brace ends..

As to the finish on the sides - not what I would choose, I’ll have to do something about that high gloss. :sick:

More likely from carving all those braces for the top ....

Which reminds me, Col gave me a nice little present this visit - my very own monogrammed thumb plane. :D
