Bought a sterling stingray5, their entry level 5 string bass. Gotta say this thing kicks b@lls. The playability sustain and tone are absolutely stellar, regardless of its $320 price. Loving it.

Sterling Sub Stingray5 or Sterling Stingray5? The sub Stingray is the entry level bass whilst the plain Stingray is a step above it.

Glad you like it. The Sterlings are fantastic guitars and basses for the money.

As ever, they are more expensive in the UK. In Andertons, the Sub Stingray5 is around £359, (~$470) the Stingray5 £549-£599 ($720-790) depending on finish.

The Sub Stingray has a one-piece pickguard/control plate, whilst the Stingray has the classic teardrop pickguard and a separate chrome control plate.

It's the SUB. Rosewood fingerboard. Only a volume bass and treble and still amazingly versatile
