PRS SE Hollowbody II - where can I get a case?

Postby thefruitfarmer » Thu Feb 20, 2020 9:31 pm

i pulled the trigger on one recently...

Very happy with it, I like the fat neck and it feels really solid.

Looks good too

However, does anyone know how to get a reasonable case for it ?

The closest I have found is an SKB ...

https://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?f=&id=192&o=&offset=&c=82&s=75

But it is really for a Gibson 335 which is slightly bigger so I could add some foam inserts....

Just an idea, you could try asking the forums at https://forums.prsguitars.com/ ? The times I've looked, they seemed to be a reasonable bunch of fellas.

I thought that the review in Guitarist mag said that it shipped with a case?

This is the new Chinese build one isn't it? If so it's a little bigger than the PRS core hollow body or indeed any other PRS model.

I've just, this week, taken delivery of a Hiscox case for my Core Studio 22 and S2 Semi-Hollow (£105 from Andertons). It's a very snug fit and so much lighter than the PRS case which came with the Studio 22. I noticed that the spec said USA models only but I'm sure that Hiscox could build you one for the SE (but I guess at a cost).

This is my second Hiscox case. I've had my Patrick Eggle case for 25 years and I'd whole heartedly recommend them.

Oh, and congratulations on the guitar. I'm very envious.

Thanks, I will enjoy it for many years.

This model only came with a gig bag, seems like PRS have now stopped including a case.

I will try the PRS forum too.

Have been in touch with hiscox and they don't seem too keen.

I could wait a few month's until third parties start making cases abailable.

I went to the PRS forum and it seems that there is nothing specific on the market quite yet.

I went for the flightwcasewarehouse universal case, which is a strong enough case that will protect the guitar in the back of a car. It is not exactly lightweight but definately holds the guitar snug and safe. The case without the guitar in does look like something from a 90s video game though ...
