Hi Guys that have one.

I'm guessing my screen isn't quite right, I thought I would check before returning it :(

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

Andy

Has the 'contrast' been turned to max?

That pic is on 6, the only setting that makes it go away fully is the minimum And then I can’t read anything!

It’s a known issue on some units. There are reports of a fix.

I'm seriously interested in one of these. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a pickup available that will work with either of the instruments I would like fit it on.

The Burns Barracuda vibrato mechanism won't allow me to fit a GK-3 close enough to the bridge saddles - AFAIKS 20mm is the furthest away that works reliably. The Eastwood copy of the Shergold Six String bass has a 13mm string spacing at the bridge and the GK-3 only accommodates up to 12mm and the GK-3B has a minimum of 16mm.

I've looked at the possibility of replacement piezo saddles but the bridges on both instruments are very much non-standard.

Is anyone doing custom spaced GK pickups?

I think your best bet might be https://www.cycfi.com/

http://www.ubertar.com/hexaphonic/products.html I’ve seen builds using these too - I think they do custom builds

Thanks I'll be exploring these options when I have the Eastwood bass in my hands and actual string spacing and other dimensions.

Hello,

is there any difference in sound quality when input of standard pickups goes through GK-3 system + 13 pin “MIDI” cable (Roland GKC) to “GK in” input of Boss SY-1000 and when input of standard pickups goes direct to “Guitar input” of Boss SY-1000?

Thank you very much.

On the SY1000 there is a very noticeable loss of high end, one setting that reduces this is the cable length simulator that needs turning off. Even with this off though there is still loss.

The SY1000 is the only device I have ever noticed this on though :(

SORRY, EDIT MY PREVIOUSLY POST:

Is there any difference in "AMP modeling" sound quality when output of standard pickups goes through GK-3 system + 13 pin “MIDI” cable (Roland GKC) to “GK in” input of Boss SY-1000 and when output of standard pickups goes direct to “Guitar input” of Boss SY-1000?

Thank you very much.
