Ernie Ball Musicman Silhouette Special

Postby TJ1 » Mon Apr 13, 2020 2:41 pm

I got this new about a year ago on a special discount deal.

It was quite expensive for me(they are made in California), but I just want to say how happy I am with it, I think it is a 'Strat' clone. It is just the right size, stays in tune, and sounds quite resonant compared with some other electrics I have tried. It is also a pleasure to hold such a well made instrument. It is also has a very convenient truss rod adjustment mechanism which can be activated without removing the strings.

I think Musicman products can be underrated compared with other bigger brands. But in fact after he left Fender, it was Leo Fender who started the company.

No connection with the company.

I had an early(ish) Musicman amp (an RP65/112 combo) and still regret selling it. I'd always wanted a Boogie mk4 so sold it to buy one*. All the Musicman kit was excellent and the guitars are no exception.

* I did like the mk4 but it was very loud and very heavy, sold it with no regrets a few years ago.
