Re: Pedal of the week.
I’ve investigated, the CXM has some strange artefacts, it certainly doesn’t sound like a 224, it works the same way, frequency dependant decay, but from what I’ve heard it has an overly accentuated noise element, I won’t be buying it based on any of the demos, I’m still holding out for a hardware replicant of the 224.

Regards, Simon.
Well I'll see your SY1 and raise you my new SY-300.
I had been looking at the EHX pedals (B9 / Mel9) and SY-1 for a while as a way of adding 'keys' in both the covers bands taht I'm in. I also looked at the Roland GR-55.
In the end, having sold a much under used guitar, I took the plunge and ordered the SY-300 despite not being convinced by the YouTube demos. I've only scratched the surface to date (I'm still working through presets) but I've begun to integrate it into my live sets. It's sitting in a loop on my Helix with patch selection via MIDI (which also selects patches on my TC Helicon VoiceLive 2).
Now I just need to play some gigs (even a full practice would be nice).
