Torpedo Captor Mis-Match ?

Postby pa28 » Sat Oct 03, 2020 2:43 pm

I have a 16ohm Torpedo Captor that I use with my Vox AC 15 HW TV1 Heritage combo, I also have a Fender SideKick Reverb 25 that drives an 8ohm speaker, can I load this 8ohm amp output safely into the Captor as its the 16ohm version bought for the AC15 and will it make a big difference to the tone?

Is the Fender a tube amp or solid state? If solid state, shouldn't be a problem. It might get quieter than with its own 8ohm speaker because the cab speaker will have, er, more impedance.
