Probably only about halfway down the keyboard though, ebows will just about work on the top g of a bass guitar but they lack the power to work any lower.

That's a shame, but it makes perfect sense Drew.

Close, but no cigar FrankF ;)

It was Brian Hodgson who ran his mum's front door key along the bass strings of a gutted piano to produce that stunning Tardis sound 8-)

And no-one has picked up on this suggestion?
I'd love to hear the results if they have - links please!

I would love to hear that too. Piano strings are quite stiff & hard to pluck, the only example I can think of is ELPs "Take a pebble".

Cover version with good visibility.....

That might need an EBow with a PP9 battery to get the strings moving

Paul, eBows don't work on the piano keyboard. ;) :D (even with a fresh battery)

There are a number of augmented piano sample libraries that use an Ebow.

https://8dio.com/instrument/1990-prepar ... nstrument/
This one is on offer until the end of the month.
The official videos will highlight the Ebow.
