I have a Fatar Studio 2001 master keyboard (an oldie but goody) and the backup battery recently needed replacing. I tried resetting the keyboard when the battery was replaced using the 2001_Presets_Dump.mid file from the Fatar website. This is where I hit a couple of snags.
First, I can only get the mid file to transmit using Windows Mediaplayer. Second, the programming terminates after only 41% resulting in many of the functions not being reprogrammed.
If any of you have experience of this and can point me in the right direction for reprogramming the keyboard, I would really appreciate it.

I'm guessing you've got the "preset memory error".
Have you tried using a dedicated sysex utility to send the file rather than media player?
I use this, works great...

Yeah I had that error originally and when I tried restoring I got the internal battery error and it only restored around 45%. So I replaced the battery and tried restoring again but still only 40%-odd.
I just tried Bome and it finishes at 88%, says transfer complete, and now I'm getting the preset memory error again. I didnt get that when it only completed 40%.

Sorted! I switched the midi interface to my trusty Yamaha UW500 instead of pc midi interface and worked first time.

Ah, so it was the interface. My Presonus Firestudio is hopeless with MIDI sysex so I keep an old edirol for doing dumps.
Glad you got it sorted.

I am an original owner of a 2001. Do you still have the mid file for this? I'd love to try to restore the memory. Totally appreciate you either way!
If so, can you email me it or to a link?

Thanks for this post and welcome to the SOS forums.
I've checked the link and it is a Fatar MIDI file archived on Wayback Machine.
