the latest Behringer-gate
Re: the latest Behringer-gate
Thomann now have the TD-3 up on their website, with a supposed delivery in 2-3 weeks, although I'm guessing that might change. Also there are blue and red versions as well as the original silver (although at the time of posting the sliver version is not on the Thomann website).
Pricing wise we are looking at ~150€

Seems to have been removed?!
Yep, for that price it will appeal to a lot of people.

Re: the latest Behringer-gate
Some more Midas related info,
Firstly the new hub 4 designed with the DP48 in mind can also support their new DL8 stagebox which is powered via PoE, so it only needs one cable back to the mothership, great for putting these small AES50 boxes wherever you need without worrying about an extra power cable.
More interesting is there new Stageconnect system, this allows 32 channels of 24/48 audio in many configurations (so I believe 16 channels each way is possible at the same time) at 0.5ms latency plus 18W of power down a SINGLE 3 pin standard XLR microphone/DMX cable. Plus it will be publicly available free of charge for other companies/users to use and implement into there products. Neat eh?

Found this interesing comparison between the Berry Pro-One and an original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4LN3BZGrog
Looks like they've pretty much done as good a job with replicating the sound as they did with the Model-D

I've long spoken about how the Pro-One is my favourite bass synth, how super-fast its envelopes are, and just how incredibly flexible it is. If I didn't have the real thing I'd be beating down doors to get this. I may still get one for the live rig, but I can wait a while until the potential gate bug is fixed.

Re: the latest Behringer-gate
It prompted me to contact my preferred supplier :-)
They said that they don't list stuff from Behringer until it's released these days, as the delivery dates have been unreliable in the past, but they'll appear when they have them so I shall be keeping an eye out.

I sold my Pro1 in 1988 for £70.

Re: the latest Behringer-gate
It might only be a slightly improved TB303 sound generation module, but it is a 16 step 250 pattern sequencer with 7 songs (tracks?), which I assume will be transmitted over MIDI, for only £129?
I'll have a couple!

Re: the latest Behringer-gate
Also worth remembering that the 303 wasn't just about acid squidgy noises. Heaven 17's "Let Me Go" bassline is all early TB303 and at Synthfest the other year, Martyn Ware was incredibly proud of that as he was able to do tricks like slurs as well as accents due to the cleverness of the sequencer. He reckoned that it was a gem that was heavily misunderstood.
Not sure I want one though.

What the world needs now is a clone of the Wasp. Sheesh!
I'm guessing we're seeing now are the benefits of technology re-use.

Being in the MI retail industry when the Wasp was released you echoed my thoughts.

Finally taking this recording lark seriously (and recording my Gypsy Jazz CD)........
Re: the latest Behringer-gate
Why ? Do you not think the sound deserves classic synth status or did you not like the cheap "margarine tub" case & unreliable top soldering ?
Or perhaps you were thinking there are enough Wasp clones alreeady ?
