Akai MPD218 alternative...?

Postby Humble Bee » Wed Jun 20, 2018 11:43 am

Hello! First post in ten years...

I am looking at buying a pad controller and at first the Akai MPD 218 caught my eye but after a bit of research it seams to be plagued by problems with double triggering and such.

Can any kind soul recommend me a pad controller that works for finger drums and making beats with EZdrummer2 in logic? I like the size and 16 pads of the Akai so something similar...?

Thanks in advance!

Very happy user here ; pads are excellent although by default the note layout means triggering pad 12 actually triggers the sound on pad 8.
Just change the note value (using the bundled editor) of pad 12 from 43 to 44 and it's good to go.
I read the reviews and bought anyhow ; didn't find double triggering to be an issue - if you are in the EU you can always return according to distance selling laws.

I use with MPC software and Logic X and love it.

Other pad controllers are of course available.
