Yeah - loads of time Fol. Don't worry too much...
Today, I've been digging through a couple of potential synths to see which I want to use. Found some lovely sounds. Not sure if either is right but I'll start having a fiddle and see.

Well, I've finished something but unfortunately it's twee and sh1t. Back to the drawing board again.

Ooh I don't do anything like this early. I always start a track, fiddle for a bit, leave it, come back, change synth, fiddle a bit more, suddenly realise that the deadline is in 48 hours, panic and quickly rattle off some old tat in desperation.
Still, good to know how the sensible people work!

Re: One Synth Challenge II - The Filter Strikes Back
I have an idea (at last), it's a bit thin and weedy at the moment and I'm finding trying the old [CENSORED] synth extremely obstructive
As for 'sensible', everyone knows that the sensible people aren't on here, they are out in the world doing IMPORTANT things

Why don't these old synths have any good loops in them?
I have to actually work at crafting a composition? How quaint!

Well, I've given up on the QS300. It's got some nice built-ins but they're really obvious. Also the backlight's dead so the only way I can work out what's going on it to shine a strong light on the display· As for fixing it, have you seen just how many tiny screws are used just to hold the case together
I do have another couple of hardware options, and if that fails then several software ones.

I _think_ I've decided. In my head, I'm mapping out how to build the track. Hopefully, I'll get some spare time soon and actually do it.
Or maybe I'll get to the second week of September, panic and pull an all nighter...

Re: One Synth Challenge II - The Filter Strikes Back
OK, all tracks pretty much in place, but another hardware synth rejected - Sound Canvas. No editable voices, and although there is quite a range, none will really do. However, for future reference I must remember it has some quite nice percussion sounds, especially considering it's age.
One more hardware synth to try, and if that fails, it's on to software ones and sample players.
