Monome optical illusion

Postby BJG145 » Fri Sep 07, 2018 8:12 pm

I was looking at this picture of a Monome, and if you let your eyes wander over it there seemed to be faint circles at the intersection of the square buttons...but when I looked closer at one, they disappear. Can anyone else see this, or am I imagining it...?

I try Googling it and came up with this "Coffer" illusion, where you see circles instead of squares if you stare at it for a minute.

Yep, the dots-in-a-square grid is fairly common one, I get it from the chair backs at the pub. :)

Whilst the video linked doesn't explaining the optical illusion above, and is about why 4k TV doesn't really make much sense except for huge screens, it does cover a lot on how the eye works and how little you actually see is in real focus. I stumbled upon it yesterday and found it very interesting.
