Enormous slowly evolving 3-osc pads are my favourite Peak patches!

I've just thought of another of my favourite Peak features - beat detune.

It has this?!? I did not know!!

Ah, I need to correct myself. It isn't 'beat tuning' as such, but the 'Diverge' parameter allows a small amount of detune without the high notes getting wobbly.

My mishtake! I was getting mixed up with my Elektron Analog Keys, which *does* have genuine beat detune.

Novation - if you're reading this you now what to add for the next update!

Ah right, yes. Diverge and Drift, I think? Haven't quite worked out how they differ, I think one varies over time, the other is a fixed separation? Nice, however it does it. Doesn't take much to dial in something just the right side of wonky.

I tend not to use Drift, but a smidge of Diverge is great for detune without tears.

Diverge is fixed. Drift moves over time.

Thanks, Elf, I hadn’t spotted that in the manual because I searched for “pan “. So it seems that voices can be spread in the stereo field with the unispread parameter, even when unison is not engaged. Still a shame (in my Tomita-influenced view of synthesis) that pan is not a modulatable destination. But that’s fine, not every synth has to do everything a synth can possibly do... It looks fab in most other respects.
