Greatly enjoyed this.
Improvs are funny things. If you're not in the right frame of mind it's hard to start.
If you are in the 'zone' it's hard to stop

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I took a quick listen to it, and it kinda holds up for what it is. I may ultimately be able to post a version with the mix of both of our parts (when it makes a lot more sense!), but I'm led to understand that there is a chance it may form an official release, so I'll have to hold off for the moment.

Dave knows what kit I used to create this , so he will have to keep mum on this occasion - for anyone else... I think there are quite a few clues in there as to what I'm using. ;) I will own up that I'm using delays and a looper to overdub and layer sounds...

Looking forward to hearing what others are coming up with!

Presumably you will, at some point, tell us how you did it though?

Lovely BTW, listening as I type.

IIRC there will be a big reveal by one and all at the end of the process (please correct me if I'm wrong) and I'm happy to share all at that time, if it's of interest.

I'm gratefully bewildered by the kind words. Love this place!

...currently listening to the contenders from the last round to check the competition. Impressive amount of work went into these. (Just got as far as "The Lounger" by MarkyC, which is great.)

Elf, really enjoyed your improv - set a high bar for the rest of us before we've even started!
Hopefully you'll report back if/when you're able to share the full piece?

Hey everyone! I'm new around here but I'd like to enter the challenge!

The tracks you've already posted are crazy good, my efforts should be easy to spot :)

Welcome aboard
When You've got your track together, priv mail DaveB with a link to it. That way, not only do we have to (try to) work what synth you use, but also which is your track :)

May I join in the One Synth Challenge? I am new to this forum but am open to ridicule! I have recently moved my studio and have but one synth set up at the moment. It may not be functioning correctly but that's seems to add to the challenge!

I had a weird time in Surrey once, but that was a drummer's fault.

yep - come on in, the water's lovely here and the more the merrier!

I've defrosted something from storage. Might use that ... but I might use something else I've thought about. I need to spend some R+D time. Oh .. and write something ... Nah ... just make it up again should be fine ...

My first go round is sounding like a pair of angry linxes (or is the plural also linx) fighting as they tumble down several flights or metal stairs. Perhaps the tour eiffel.

The synth I’m using is not terribly good at subtlety. Or maybe it’s just me. More Eventides may help.

Sad news - my OB-6 is sick and can't stay in tune :frown:

This scuppers my intended plan. However, while I await a reply from Sequential support I've initiated plan B and will be doing something different on another board.

I might be speaking too soon, but it might have been a slightly sticky pitchbend wheel. At least, I can't currently reproduce it having given the wheel a bit of a going over.

Fingers crossed

I was thinking of making a comment about being more careful how you show your love for your OB-6. But I thought that would be in bad taste, so decided not to. :smirk:

So, if we hear anything with a lovely band pass filter, we'll know whose it is ... ;)
