Well I think I'm in... I'm not entirely sure Dave got my message :?

Sort of, not sure I'll ever get it to fruition but I have an idea for something and an idea (but only that) for how to make it.

You may hear nothing else about this from me though as I let the idea sink into the void. I'll keep you posted......

Do we actually have to enter? Or is expressing an interest on her sufficient? (Not sure I have the bottle to actually enter anything...)

Sam - there's no escape now!

But it's worth it!

It doesn't really matter if an entry is good or bad, it's about getting something done to a deadline and learning something about your strenths & weaknesses (and your chosen synth).

This time around I want to gently 'master' my entry as on previous challenges mine have been by far the 'quietest'
I've also let a few things go out that I'm not 100% happy with (On SC1 I had to cull some low end due to a ground loop, on SC2 I wish I had sorted the rather repetitive drum pattern)

The challenge is fun, but also a great learning experience - Can't wait to hear what you (and others) create :)

No prob, we'll both be up working late on the 9th Feb trying to get finished1

Just promise you won't use all the 'lecky' on your side of the pennines and give me power cuts !!! ;)

Ok I'm in again.

Feeling a bit short on inspiration right now, but I'm sure I can rustle up a contender for worst track.

I'm actually performing a 30-minute live, improvised, 'one synth challenge' tomorrow night in Nottingham. No guidelines; no rehearsal; no stabilisers, life-jackets or waterwings of any kind. Any lack of talent is purely co-incidental.

I'm actually part of a duo for this event, but I think I will record my parts on their own and submit the results for your approval.

I doubt anyone will have much trouble figuring out the machine I'm using, but the pedals and effects I'll be using will take it into very strange waters...

Here be dragons!

I'm not sure if that is courageous or craze... or both!

I've had an idea so bad that it goes all the way around past inspired and back to totally bloody stupid. If I get time to put it together, and if the end result isn't outlawed under the Geneva Convention, then I guess I'm in

In the spirit of the challenge, and of our improv performance tonight, here's a recording of my half of the performance - unedited, unassisted in any way. Heck, the file might even be blank - I haven't even heard it myself yet! :headbang:

It may seems a bit disjointed. No matter. It is what it is.

Roughly 30 minutes long - please feel free to abandon it when you get bored! 8-)

I have to say, I really enjoyed that. I was meaning to go to get a drink at some point but just got lost in the soundscape and couldn't bring myself to interrupt it

You mentioned it was your half - was it a duo playing together of which this was half or was it your portion of a longer performance?

I would dearly love a copy of this recording, if that's possible.

I think that this deserves it's own thread really :)

Eddie : he's half of the performance. He had one keyboard. The other chap had a modular iirc. All live. All improvised.

Dashed talented these fairy folk..
