I think this challenge also encourages you to just twiddle knobs and push buttons to see what happens. I've lost count of the times when doing that has produced something that I had no idea was even possible! :bouncy:

Dave B, pardon my ignorance, but how do I PM you? In "My Control Panel" when I click on Private Messages I'm told I am not authorized to use this feature. Being new on this forum do I need a certain amount of post before I can PM?

I've got a dropbox link to my track. Now the challenge is how to get it to you. Your challenge is actually listening to it!

Because we are a target for spammers new members' first 3 posts have to be approved by a moderator. And because spammers are so creative they abused PMs as well so we had to disallow new members sending PMs as well until they had 3 posts approved.

The good news is that I have now approved your 3rd post and you will find that you are now allowed to send PMs :)

Well thank you! I’ve sent off the link to my track.

I used the first synth I ever bought. Which shouldn’t give too much away. I could be twelve. Or seventy.

I’m am really looking forward to what others have done.

Let me just run my iPhone through the Keith Emerson IR plug-in...add a little humanized quantization, sprinkle in some Melodyne mixolydian and Bam!

Still sounds like crap, need more plug-ins.

A question has been raised : does this have to be an original piece or is a cover ok?

Cover is fine by me - go for it. I thought Jumpeyspyder's Cars was great in the first challenge. Not sure his sanity survived the process, but hey ho ...

:)

Gentle nudge / reminder : we have a week to go. I said the deadline was the 10th, so that gives us a week still and whole weekend / Sunday evening to finish off.

I've had a few entries already - thanks all - and if anyone wants to change anything, that's equally fine. I'm such a forgiving guy!

:)

Anyway, have fun and hopefully in a week or so's time, we can all relax and listen to some top synth choons!

One wonders what 'a few' entries represents. I know that in sheep farming circles it's about 300 :o

P.S. From the days when my brother and I used to help out in the catching pens on our family holidays in Wales.

!

The excellent Cars cover in OSC1 was ArkieBoy on his Roland VG99
I painfully murdered 'Are Freinds electric?'

Not recorded anything yet - still putting some ideas together, hopefully I'll get the bassline and drum parts done today :)

We're allowed to change things? Oh good, there's a small thing in the mix that has started to bug me, although I suspect nobody else would notice unless I were to point it out! I'd leave it, but I want to tweak the arrangement too.
