Thanks degrade, you are right, this is a great community.

If you are coming over from Sweden, if there is any chance you could bring along your countryman, the stunning synthesist that is Dan Lind, and then, ideally, your fellow Scandivian and awesome synthesist, Kebu, that would be just fabulous. Especially if they would play a tune or two. Is it the long winter nights that brings out the synth geniuses?

Thanks Jumpey :)

I know neither of them Bill, but who knows, they might be going too if they see this.
(Haven't heard Dan's music but will sure give him a listen, Kebu is really good.)

Yes it might be, when you have nothing else but blinking synths to light up the darkness and humming electronics to keep you warm, sooner or later great things happen (later in my case  )

I'll be at Synthfest and might be able to make a Yorkshire elite meet (strictly as an imposter).
Logarhythm and i are still working on a south west meet at the end of August as well, we've not forgotten about it.

As a sidenote, having been to Synthfest in Sheffield twice, this is exactly the thing that makes me want to revisit in 2019 as well - nice helpful people converging to talk about a common interest and have fun, humanity at it's best.

Might see you in Sheffield come autumn
I'm one of the organisers of Synthfest - I specifically look after the exhibitors in the main hall. Make sure to introduce yourself to me, my friend!

Thanks Elf, I surely will. (But how do I recognize you... will you be wearing a pointy hat?)

Joke aside, when Synthfest draws nearer maybe someone can start a thread on the forum about a meetup, it would be nice - I'll keep this thought.

We usually go for a dinner somewhere afterwards. Last year was especially nice. CC found it.

SOS elite meet takes the heat, what a treat. I've decided I'll be back for Synthfest.

Actually it was Mrs CC, but it was nice.

Degraye (sorry the auto-correct jumped in before). Kebu toured the UK a couple of years ago, I was privileged to see his first gig of the tour in Hull

Dan Lind is an (almost) unknown great synth composer. He won a competition way back for Clavia to demo the Nord Lead 3, result was “Analogue Part One” which is on You Tube. He also has a *few* tracks on SoundCloud, which is a shame as he used to have over 50. Don’t know why he took them down, they are quite magical. Anyway, he has started adding some back recently, so I hope he will add more. I would pay good money for this guy’s music. It is everything that I wish my music could be, but will never be. Of course, it helps that he can actually play!

If its any help ? I'm travelling down to kent on the 21st April for a weeks break.

I could collect the TG33 from Will and either Elf / Bill could pick up from Huddersfield (ish) ?
Can we keep that in reserve. If everything pans out conveniently, I'll be able to bring it up myself - provided a non-Yorkshire man is allowed in

Awww, you’re going to test my resolve by making me wait 6 months... OK, I can hold out... just..........

Non-Yorkshire men are ALWAYS welcome in Yorkshire, ESPECIALLY if they are bearing gifts.

When my bearded, axe wielding, mead drinking ancestors visited your area about a thousand years ago, I don´t think they were that welcome :o
But I´ll try to make up for it at Synthfest.

I've been listening to his music on Soundcloud now and I agree, thanks for the tip!

Hmmm, bearing gifts... bearing axes.... not quite the same. I live a couple of miles from a village called Ellerker - your ancestors left their mark.

But your ancestors are now our ancestors, what’s not to like :headbang:

In that case I think we need you and billB to find a date and we'll join in where available ?

It also possbly expands the location, for me anywhere on a trainline is do-able :)

Hi

Sorry I'm late here, but I would just like to point out the the TG33 is a module version of the SY22 NOT the SY35 as Folderol stated.

Has the TG33 gone yet? If not, I'd be interested if you don't mind posting it to Birmingham.
