a Prophet Xl and Waldorf Quantum

A power trio for sure. I have the 8 voice too and I’ve not yet ran into any situations where I wished I’d gone for the 16 voice.

The factory presets don’t set it alight in my view, worth checking out the Moog One forum, where we have just started to set up a patch Sharing site.

Just saw the video before I saw your post Davy - I'm quite envious of the space, I'd love a large square-ish room to use. I used to have one, but that's now my yojngest step-daughter's bedroom so I'm in a much more rectangular room instead, which is a little cramped for space. Still, it's doing the job for now :D

Nice groove too

Woo-hoo - what a setup Davy!

Looking forward to hearing in due course what the Moog One does for your sonic output 8-)

Eddy - don't wish for a squarish room, as acoustically they can be very tricky without loads of acoustic treatment, since the length & width mode problems pile up at certain frequencies. Only a cube is worse than a square room, since then all three sets of room modes occupy the same frequencies

I suspect what Davy has is a square-ish setup in a rectangular space ;)

Thanks Eddy, Martin and Desmond.

And you're right Martin my room is rectangular and I've built the symths around me like that as I always do my videos live. It allows me to have them all connected and synced together and have easy access to them as I play.

Thats Reilly in the video Desmond, when he was a pup we used to call him Marcel Marceau as he barely made a noise. He's a bit of a chilled out dog and likes to takes life easy :D

Aye, I get it's about the time domain of reflections from equidistant surfaces but I'm not a 'natural' when it comes to such things as the vast majority of my work is non-acoustic so I tend to err towards the convenience of space as opposed to the acoustics :D

Lovely setup though, and I'm still envious of the space!

I very much like the way that this one develops a bit over the first minute or so. It's got a lot of interesting parts in it and a pleasing solidity too

Thanks for that, went for something with a bit of feeling this time, I played the initial(Quantum) into the Squarp using Live record then just built up around it. Then came across Jesus on youtube of all places! So I sampled him

Thanks Ben, I'm very fortunate and appreciative to have a nice setup like this and I like to think I put it to good use and everything has a purpose and it's not just a collection of bling

I very much enjoyed this Davy. The ones I like the best are those that move towards being a track and less of 'just' a groove, though some grooves can be great too of course :D

I'd agree there - you use it a lot and it's obvious you're not just using gear for decoration

Running out of room though!! ;)

https://youtu.be/CgfwFAVW4qU

Did this one this morning.

The bass is an MS-101, the Moog One does the Pads, also uses the Porophet Xl and Quantum. Sequencing is from the Squarp Pyramid

The theme is "Reap what you Sow" or in Northern Ireland we would refer to it as an Own Goal :shh:

Thanks Martin, that was kind of what I had in mind, keeping a simple bass progression but introducing various "weird" or modulated sounds to give it a different feel. The Quantum is really good for throwing out unusual sounds and its the one that is doing the pitch changing bell like sound. The likes of the Boog D and Nuetron where just playing a single modulated note at opposing intervals. A lot of it just kind of happened :)

I've enjoyed using the live sampling feature of the DjS-1000 so have ordered a Pioneer DJ 2000 nexus 2 player and a Pioneer DJ 900 Nexus 2 Mixer and plan to mix and mess about with the songs as I play them to add something a little different, I do all my stuff live and in one take with no post processing so being able to live sample and set up slices etc should be good fun and hopefully create happy accidents.

Really looking forward to the Behringer Pro 1 and 808 rip offs so I channel my inner Vince Clarke as the demos I've seen of the Pro one so far have been dire and not brought across the sort of sounds I'd want to hear from it. I plan to put that right!!!
