Breath guitar, finally

Postby BJG145 » Sun Jun 23, 2019 2:29 pm

Ever since posting here about Onorato in Jan 2017, I've wanted to try that Yamaha G10 / BC2 "breath guitar" style he does. (Here he is with a bit of Coltrane.)

And finally, two G10s, two BC2s, and two breath/MIDI adapters later, with bits sourced from Spain, Germany and the US...I got it working today!

The final piece of the puzzle was a MIDI Solutions Breath Controller to replace my knackered Anatek Wind Machine, having given up on the BC2 input on the guitar itself, as well as the one on the VL70 synth module. This is much nicer - no stupid DIP switches and PSUs; it's configured via Sysex and powered by the MIDI input. (Didn't know MIDI carried power. There you go.)

So without further ado, and bearing in mind that this is after about 5 minutes practice (yeah yeah, excuses excuses)...here's a quick demo.
