What's not so nice is that I just got an email telling me that the ETA is now mid-November!

Only joking... not about the mid-November thing, that's really the case, but in all honesty I don't think it's something to moan about in the overall scheme of things.

Elf, I hope yours isn't subject to the same delay. If it is, I'm calling it a race ;)

For reasons I won't bore anyone with, that delay suits me just fine!

But a race it is anyway! ;)

Loser buys the hobnobs?

Ugh!

"Hey, guys, I've invented this fabulous new thing that I've decided to call 'milk chocolate!"

"Wow! It's almost perfect - it just needs to taste a bit more like tree bark..."

And that is how plain chocolate was invented. True story!

...Sigh....

The winner has to buy enough

1. Milk chocolate Hobnobs
2. Plain chocolate Hobnobs
3. Milk chocolate from Lidl
4. Tree bark

To keep everyone here happy.

I spoke to an old friend last night, and musical collaborator of years standing, he very rarely buys anything new, and he surprised me when he said he was almost certainly going to get a Summit, and that he would sell one of his nice old vintgage synths to get one. He said the Gordon Reid review was enough to sway him, and the demo's seemed very promising.
I must admit, I'm tempted too, I suggested to my friend that if he does buy one we put in a joint order, we may get a better deal, but I'll have to sell my Buchla to fund it, and that's going to be a difficult decision.

You can try, but it's going to be a seller's market, at least for a while, I'm afraid. I can only say so much, but I do know that the Summits arriving before the end of the year (assuming they still do) are going to be a very rare breed. I had to pull in favours to even have one allocated to me!

Patience may be your best path to a discounted price.

Yes, I said this to my friend, it's best to wait a bit anyway, but you know what it's like, depends on how much we want these things I suppose!

:)

PS, I don't know though, retailers are reporting low sales generally, and Breixit too may be adding uncertainty, across the board. All in all, difficult to tell maybe.

If The Elf says demand is high for these at the moment, then demand for these is high!

The demand for these is exceptionally high, and that is a fact.

Ha, finally got notification that my Summit is arriving tomorrow :-)

Sadly, I'm not in the UK so won't get to touch it until the end of the week but it's nice to know it's there.
