Anyone else salivating for this synth?

I love my Peak. It's quickly become a favourite here in the Toadstool, and has wowed all who have tried it - I think I'm responsible for quite a number of sales!

What I've always said about Peak is that it deserves a second filter... and along comes Summit with a dual filter option. I'm hoping that option arrives on Peak too. That aside...

Five octave, full size keyboard with aftertouch - lovely. No poly AT from the keyboard, I believe, which, given that Peak responds to PAT - does the Summit also? - seems bit of a shame. Internal PSU (shout out to all those who tell me why it can't be done  ) with a standard mains cable connector. And that gorgeous colour-changing guide to which layer you're working on - simple and ingenious.

I really hope I can get my hands on a Summit at Synthfest - and then I'm hoping nobody takes my hands back off it!

Want, but can't have. The Peak is great, but I still think it's a shame there's no 61-key Peak and they didn't choose 73+ keys for the Summit :D

Yeah I know, not likely. But one can dream.

I'm anticipating delivery of the Summit (I pre-ordered one on 4th August) with more than the usual sense of excitement... hopefully not long to go now :)

Ooh, how exciting :bouncy:  8-)

Hope installing yet another synth won't change your acoustics now that Max has fine-tuned the plans

There are so many things I want to say about this beast but they have tied me to NDAs. Damn it!

Yes, they tied you, but you did then ask to be whipped. ;)

Er, the version I heard involved whipped cream - I think this might be a case of Chinese whispers ;)

I think that this is one of those dreadful cases of miscommunication - Zukan expected the cream but got a bit of a surprise instead... :D

No worries, it'll be occupying a space in the 'officially for synths' section down the side walls and in doing so will displace an existing board which in turn will be relocated to the 'not using right now' area

It does, both channel and poly according to the Tech Specs -> Product Hardware Specifications -> Mod Sources at https://novationmusic.com/synths/summit :-)

Glad to hear that, but it really does make not putting a poly AT keyboard on the thing at least questionable and at worst downright mean.

I can only assume that its a cost vs. benefit thing for them, but if I'm correct in my understanding that the keybed in the Summit is a custom job then I agree it's a shame not to have it, even if it was an optional extra.

It's a good feeling isn't it! Did your source give you an ETA?

I don't think that even Novation themselves have an ETA.

I did hug the designer who told me he was the one responsible for the internal PSU! Whether that gets me an earlier delivery, or a restraining order remains to be seen...

Mrs. D. certainly will be... she's just informed me she's buying the Summit for me as an early Christmas and Birthday present rolled into one :D
