Can't remember how to post an imgur image!

Image won't load Elf.... :eh:

The major problem would be sneaking it past the wife...you could try disguising it as a Welsh dresser I suppose?

:D

Yeah, I've tried everything I can think of, but I can't recall how to do it!

Same mistake i made a few times. You were linking to the imgur post, not the actual image.
When you paste the url in, make sure it ends with the .jpg or .png.

So not just bleeps and bloops like most modular systems then

But it certainly looks the part, even if not of us forumites could ever afford one. And it's certinaly not something you'd be able to sneak past the wife!
"Oh what that thing, its always been there, got it with the house, you just never noticed it".

Maybe someone will do a tiny version of this with tiny patch pins (with included tweezers) and volca style knobs, plus if you still wanted a real analogue 'scope in the device but still compact then there are the old Thandar portable units.

It's an antique telephone exchange, darling. They're all the rage at the moment.

What's that? You want Ewhurst 888?

More like "give me the name of a local solicitor please" but which half would you least want to lose :D

Well I saw it. It's big and went beep and bloop and buzz a lot. What else do you need to know?

Got to admit... I looked at it, thought it looked very nice, then moved on. I view it much like an F1 car - impressive, but not really anything that has a place in my world.

But I'm glad it exists, and I'm glad it causes a few jaws to drop! In a world where the accountant is king it's nice to see something built that makes no economic sense - all power to those guys!

Agree, but the good thing is that such things do trickle developments down to more commercial solutions, the car industry actually is a good example.

Maybe a colossus mini? More an occasional table than a Welsh dresser? :D

How about a Volca 100?

I liked the Colossus a lot more in the flesh than I did seeing pictures of it. Sadly I didn't get to play with it properly but I did send my wife a photo.

She thought it was amazing! No, that's a lie. I present exhibit A:

  I get a lot of replies like that too... :bouncy:

...but I'm sure our wives and partners mean the phrase in a supportive, positive, and encouraging way...

I've always interpreted it like that, anyway... :ugeek:

Yeah, the 1st guy to try it out took longer than expected to whizz through the factory presets
:smirk:

This machine is a time bandit, Im sure it sounds pure & artefact free but given constraints of money & time, Id probably do my exploring on one of the old Nord modulars, or even a dedicated PC, with awesome soundcard, awesome displays & awesome modular software.

What are the alternatives these days ?

Moog modular reissue, not the same kettle of fish though.
Buchla 200e top line system, which I'd rather have.
And just imagine how much Eurorack or 5U you could buy for £25,000?
Or, a vintage ARP.
