Does anyone know what the differences between these two bass pedal models are?

Looking at the manuals, the only real difference listed seems to be that the PK-5 just does program change numbers (1-128) whilst the PK-5A can also produce MSB and LSB bank change messages.

Not sure..l I read that the 5a can transpose in poly mode whereas the 5 can't...

Here are their respective manuals:

Can't see any mention of Transpose in the PK-5, so that may be unique to the PK-5A. this seems reinforced by the markings on the front panel as the last pedal on the right on the PK-5 has no Transpose legend, whilst the PK-5A does.

So Bank Select and Transpose seem to be the added features.

Thanks, guys. Roland themselves say that both can transpose over 9 octaves.

Can't say I'd be likely to have it issue patch changes anyway...

I used to have the 5A and sold it. I've acquired a 5 recently.

That's whole octave transposition, not the ability to go up or down by x semitones, which is PK-5A only.

Ah, I see. Again, not something I would be likely to need.

TBH I hadn't realised there were two models, but it seems there's nothing I would rely on to concern me.
