Agreed, FFS, the Boog switched to multiturn trimmers early on in the production due to issues during user calibration with the single turn ones, and that's a £300 synth!

Single turn presets only really work reliably if there is a very small range to adjust, and the controls themselves are stable regarding temperature, humidity and vibration. Carbon track ones perform very poorly on all counts.

Sorry yes, that's what I meant but phrased badly – single turns are OK at times, less OK at others. I'm surprised they didn't employ better trimmers.

I'm guessing they're now sold out with no current plans announced to create more (and there seemed to be a lot of fuss about how it was a "single, one-time-only production run" so I don't see how they can), but previous orders haven't yet all been distributed. (?)

The KORG MS20 & -M desktop kits were limited edition from >5 years ago yet there is now an MS20-FS {Full Size, not mini like the mini version}.

DGL. wrote:They mention that much of the cost is in the wooden case and how even in Asia it can't be made that cheaply, having said that how much different is the case really to one for a guitar amp?,

Dont forget the fixed costs, design & machine programming spread over 500 units as opposed to how many for the amp ? 5000 ?

Marc D just posted unboxing of the Korg 2600. It looks a monster, one can only imagine the look the courier gave him after dropping it off!
I would have NEVER got that past the wife into the studio...... :D

Very nice.

But I'll wait for a smaller, lighter, black and orange version!

My US friend, Rod Mitchell (who makes noises under his Atomic Shadow name), has just taken delivery of his KARP 2600. I know a few other people here know him as well.

He was told this is around the 50th one build and shipped, so they are still trickling through the limited production numbers.

" I cannot begin to describe how great this thing sounds. Even using the built in speakers.

Korg, you are my hero."

Ooh, I must see if Rod's created any videos with it yet.

Damn, I need a 2600. I'm still waiting for further news on the Behringer version.

Good to know they're getting through. Those things are going to fulfill a few dreams!

Good luck to the guy.
