But what happens if you get hobnob crumbs between the keys?

Oh, sorry - what was this thread about?

Loud is good! That way everyone knows you're busy being creative and must under no circumstances be disturbed.
That's, everyone in the nearest four houses :)

I ordered one of each. Shorter one for the DAW to fit alongside the MIDI controller keyboard, full size for my work laptop. I like laptop keyboards but I like the proper clunkers more. If it's good and clicky I might sample the noise, play around with it a bit and try make a rhythm track from the results :D

Ha!
It's variable clicky :bouncy:
Press softly and you hear the click cleanly. More enthusiastically results in a rattly sound.

and spill resistant!
As yesterday I knocked over an entire glass of lemonade onto a drum which then ran onto the carpet. Why not the uncarpeted part of the floor?

The good news is that it wasn’t a happy hour whiskey. :eh:

a good way to test if all fingers press with the same force!
Or in my case, if both fingers do.

As I thought, it’s tackier than the Korg, which looks stunning. I think I'll hold out for more Korgs.

and do you know something we don’t?? I thought that was it. Most suppliers are saying that in three UK at least.

Yes, I know, shame isn’t it, and a bit ridiculous.
May be they are making it as a bit of a PR exercise, and it’s not a money maker.

It is, I was nearly there.......but missed. Ah well maybe the Behringer will get the sound, the others are pretty close according to most respected users (including some in this parish), I’d be pretty happy with that.

Arrived today, typing on it now... the clickiness is great. The feel is positive and chunky plus it has a really nice power-on sequence with a parade of animated LED light-ups in different colours that reminds me of being in an 80s amusement arcade.

I think it's brilliant. Heartily recommended if you're after that 'proper' old-school full-travel keyboard feel and are able to work in a space that doesn't have anyone within earshot! I will concede it is very loud in operation and doesn't sound dissimilar to a real typewriter (but I like that).

Doing a quick typing test my WPM increased by 8 over the laptop keyboard as well. Bonus

Yes I do use that shop when I can't find what I want anywhere else :(

Should be arriving Tuesday, it's just that the other one arrived first. I've been meaning to replace my computer keyboards for a while so the thread was timely in that regard, and having one without a numeric keypad is quite desirable too :D
