How to remove (disconnect) ribbon connector on a Roland EP 9 piano

Postby BruceS » Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:25 pm

I'm trying to repair my EP 9 Roland piano that has the pershing (red) glue problem. I'm trying to remove a ribbon cable in order to remove the keyboard to attempt to repair the keyboard. Is this just a pull up connection or is there a secret to removing the cable. I don't want to damage the cable because repair parts are hard to find. I tried to carefully put up on the connector (light brown) part but to no avail.
Any help will be appreciated.

I tried to post a picture but could not figure it out.

Thanks,
Bruce

there are many different kinds of ribbon connector, some with latches and catches so a picture would be good.

you need to host your pic somewhere, then click the Img button as above, & insert the pic link in between the img bookends
