Waldorf Pulse 2 problems

Postby Stickman0_3 » Wed Mar 04, 2020 11:23 pm

I turned on my Waldorf Pulse 2 today to audition the sounds. It was OK for the first minute or so, then it started to play up with notes hanging and the only way to stop that is to turn it off and then on again! It is the latest update - 1.20.

Has anyone else had problems? How do I fix this? Could it be a power supply problem?

Also when I try to access any of the menus, I can scroll down to a parameter but how do I select it and go into it?

OK, I have sorted this out, the Pulse doesn't seem to like the arpeggiators clock set to internal. It still needs further investigations though. I'm going to try triggering it with a keyboard which does not have an arpeggiator. :D

Thank you for the update. I'm sorry I've no experience with the Pulse so unable to help, but it's always good to have further information in a thread rather than leave a question hanging unanswered

No problem, I'm glad I got it sorted.

I was really stuck at what to do. Then I remembered that when I was programming some sounds for the Korg MS2000, to dump the sounds out, the midi clock has to be set to External otherwise it won't communicate.

After tearing my hair out, I got to thinking that maybe the Pulse 2 works in the same way. So, I set the Midi Channel Receive and Device Number to 1 and set the Midi Clock to External and then, hey presto! it worked, yay!

I hope this info will help other frustrated Pulse 2 owners.

Now that I have sorted out the Waldorf, I will be having a go at progamming it soon.

After playing with my Waldorf Pulse 2 today, I found that it still locks up. The problem seems to be with the arpeggiator. I have now set the Arpeggiator to Auto (in the global page) and it now works perfectly.
