I'm eagerly anticipating the next phase of the process - listening to 'em all and trying to guess the gear and the people  :D

P.S. although I seem to do better with the people than the gear

Yes, but you've got to put your fingers in your ears whilst listening, so you don't accidentally listen
Running out of time is all too easily done - you can always carry the piece over to the next one, and in the meantime pile in with the guessing and listening for this one

This has been a really useful challenge for me. It's forced me to focus on one piece of gear and what it can do. I have not got anywhere near the limits of the synth I used, but the challenge has made me realise how much I've been missing out on. I've been fortunate enough to be busy with the day job for the last few years and have bought some gear but not used it much.

This challenge has shifted my focus from buying another toy to making real use of what I'm already lucky enough to have. So I'm actually getting real value from what I have already bought.

Thank you!

Grant.

I've never liked a solo violin, you need at least five for a proper fire.

Dave hasn't been on here to say entries are closed yet, so you may yet get in under the wire.

Of course you can join in the guessing. Everyone can regardless of whether they have an entry.

Nigel, You still have the rest of tonight (domestic situation permitting, obviously) and I'm cool if you want me to hold off until lunchtime tomorrow. I might do that anyway ...

But if you're still a fair way off and want to skip this, then I understand. Everything is cool here.

Thanks for the offer Dave but dont let me hold you up, Im not going to be able to finish it this week. Mayday bank hol is a funny one [ & the VE75 is canceled! ] but I will definitely make the track available then.

It has been an excellent eye opening experience so far !
After only playing the 1 synth, tonight I had a quick dabble on my mega synth and was amazed at how "smooth" it was.

I'm not going to make it either. I'll keep working on it and at least I'll have a head start next time! I have enjoyed the process of trying to extract a full tune from a single machine - it has forced me to get to know 'it' a little better!

Roll up! Roll up!! The results are in!

https://soundcloud.com/one-synth-challenge/sets/one-synth-challenge-4

OK, so this is a playlist which has 13 tracks - each of which is a different synth. I've held back a few tracks where we had duplicates from the same person using the same synth. So we will have a minor release (4.1) in a short while once we are all bored of these (and I have checked some housekeeping on soundcloud). We have a fairly interesting mix of synths this time, and there are a couple which I have never had my sticky mits on so I'm quite happy if nothing else.

Enjoy!

I'm listening as best I can though I am working today and have at least 2 hours of meetings coming up soon!
