Or maybe start to look into MPE, and beyond that MIDI 2? If you're on that boat early it may serve your cause.

Poly Yoshi has a nice ring to it

...and it will no doubt be considerably cheaper than buying an ASM Hydrasynth to get a poly-aftertouch keyboard ;)

Better still if it has a ribbon controller...

We've had a (very) cursory look at both of those. MPE would require quite a major refactoring. MIDI 2 looks more promising from the point of view of finer controls, but a lot of its real benefit seems to rely on controller and synth negotiating what does what so I don't know how well that will work out.

According to the Behringer FB the first tool made samples of their pin matrix are ready, both the matrix itself and the 2 pole (TS) pins with built in resistors.
So I guess an EMS clone is guaranteed

Please Uli, please, try and at least stick to the original format, and looks, if it’s going to be a Synthi, hope it doesn’t turn out like the 2600.
Put me down straight away, it’ll be my first Behringer synth.

Adding some pictures from the Behringer FB page now I'm on the laptop

And who said cloning old synths was easy!, the level of engineering they are willing to go to is staggering.
I wonder if they will gift one to JMJ, would be a sensible move esp. if he could be coaxed into doing some videos on it.

I’m guessing a target price of around £1,200 or it could be their most expensive synth yet.

A Synthi without a pin matrix?

Philistine! :protest:

Neither did I, when I first got mine, hated it, got a Mini Moog as soon as I was able.
And then it all clicked, and I loved it to bits, and I love them even more now.
Why won’t it stay in tune? why can’t I get a ladder type filter sweep? why is the reverb so crap?.....because all these things make it a beautiful random feedback generating unstable acid trip of a synth.
