Fun with Valhalla Supermassive (audio inside)

Postby Ben Asaro » Sun May 31, 2020 2:02 am

Having heard that the new free plugin from Valhalla, Supermassive, is great for creating awesome ambient pads, I embarked on an experiment for a new song intro.

I tracked a modular voice playing a scale with a slow attack and release, just a single sawtooth wave but heavily modulated by the WORNG Vector Space and clock sync'd to my DAW.

I then took that scale and cut it up to make chords and added Supermassive and Waves Manny M reverb.

Quite happy with the results, it's very vintage-sci-fi-in-a-Bladerunner-sort-of-way.

Enjoy the trip into outer space! :)

Very nice! I intend to mess with it some more. Meanwhile, I linked to a video I made in the original thread. It seems like the simpler the input the better the results.
