Hello there,
I am thinking of gettin the Source Audio After Shock Bass distortion pedal (https://www.thomann.de/it/source_audio_ ... ortion.htm), but I am wondering whether it is safe to use it with a keyboard, mainly to be played as organ and synth. Will I blow up my speakers?
Thanks

Only if you turn it up too loud!

Nice to know! :D
Thanks... I'll go for it then.
EDIT: of course I'd be as concerned with the pedal itself as with the speakers... I'd assume if I keep the volume of the keyboard on the low side the pedal should be fine, right?

I’ve got keyboards connected to pedals, part of the sound is overdriving them, you’ll get the "intended" level of distortion at the levels it was designed for, but it’ll take on a different character if you start to drive it beyond those levels, I’ve never damaged any of my pedals doing this, and you can get some interesting sounds especially overdriving reverbs/delays chorus pedals etc, it’s just a matter of taking the risk.

One of my usual tricks is to use a guitar EQ pedal as synth overdrive. It breaks up as soon as it even looks at a keyboard, so the sliders act as frequency selective drive controls. The overall gain slider on the pedal is another 15dB either way of push or restraint, so it's very flexible.
